Ryan Wells Looking Forward To Some Oval Racing In Atlanta

After a wild night of racing under the lights at Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona TT, Estenson Racing’s Ryan Wells has his eyes firmly set on a top result at the first American Flat Track oval race of 2019, the Atlanta Short Track in Woodstock, Georgia, on Saturday, March 23. For Wells, returning to Dixie Speedway is also about redemption. Last season the 2016 AFT Singles Champion was part of a multi-rider crash in the second Semi. Even though he was a little banged up, he was still able to finish fourth in the Semi and sixth in the Main. This year Wells is hoping for better and aiming to put his Estenson Racing YZ450F on top of the box. Wells’ AFT Singles teammate Dallas Daniels still awaits his professional debut later this June at the Lima Half-Mile, but will be on hand to help the team and sign autographs. Ryan Wells – AFT Singles #94:
“I am excited to get past Daytona and move on to the first oval race of the season in Atlanta. I went into Daytona super-motivated and confident that I could get on the podium. At the end of the day, you can’t win the championship at the first round, but you sure can lose it. So, although not the result that we had hoped for, we got the points, we stayed safe and we got out of there. “Moving on to Atlanta, I am confident that with the whole team – me, Nick and everybody – we’ve got a great package going into the first oval. Especially last year with me having my biggest wreck of my racing career, I want to go back there and get some redemption at that track. I really feel like it’s my style of racetrack – a fast clay short track – so I definitely think we can be a frontrunner and hopefully put it on top of the box.” The Atlanta Short Track is streamed live, Saturday, March 23, on FansChoice.TV starting with practice at 3:00 p.m. ET, followed by the Heat races at 5:30 p.m. ET. Opening Ceremonies kicks off at 7:00 p.m. ET, with Semis at 7:15 p.m. ET and the Main Events at 8:00 p.m. ET. Catch the race on NBCSN March 31 at 4:30 p.m. ET.
