Dallas Daniels and Tom Drane both showcased their exceptional talent during the 2024 Progressive American Flat Track season, delivering performances that underlined their potential in the sport.
Dallas Daniels (No. 32 Estenson Racing Yamaha MT-07 DT) faced a challenging night at the Parts Plus Lake Ozark Short Track presented by Arrowhead Brass & Arby’s. Despite being mired in ninth early in the race, Daniels demonstrated his resilience and tactical skill, systematically working his way through the field. He eventually challenged for a podium spot, displacing both Brandon Robinson and Jarod Vanderkooi in the latter stages of the race. Daniels closed the gap on Jared Mees as the race neared its end, but ultimately finished second, just 0.423 seconds behind. His relentless charge preserved his strong finish to the season, though he came up short in the overall championship standings, finishing third with 276 points.
Meanwhile, Tom Drane (No. 59 Estenson Racing Yamaha YZ450F) emerged victorious in the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles class, capping off a spectacular season. After a restart changed the dynamic of the race, Drane found himself in a fierce battle with Chase Saathoff, his season-long rival. In the final moments, Drane edged Saathoff by just 0.061 seconds, securing his seventh victory of the season. This win also solidified Drane’s status as one of the top competitors in the series, finishing the season with 324 points, just behind Kody Kopp, who claimed the championship. Drane’s skill and determination throughout the season highlighted his bright future in the sport.
Both Daniels and Drane have cemented their place as key riders to watch in the coming seasons of American Flat Track racing.
