A refreshed Kolby Carlile heads to Sturgis, S.D. extra-motivated and ready for twice the American Flat Track action with the Buffalo Chip TT on Sunday, August 5 and the Black Hills Half-Mile on Tuesday, August 7.
The month-long break between American Flat Track rounds allowed the defending AFT Singles Champion some time for reflection about what changes needed to be made in the latter half of the season. Although the two tracks couldn’t be more different, Carlile likes them both for different reasons and is aiming to score a pair of “W’s” on his Yamaha YZ450F.
Kolby Carlile – AFT Singles #1:
“It was nice to have the break. I’ve had some time off and was able to get away for a bit to evaluate what has gone on for the first half of the season and what we need to change to be more successful every week. I’m heading into the second half of the season very determined and with a different mindset. So I am really looking forward to the next two races coming up this week in Sturgis.
“The Buffalo Chip TT, you know, it’s really fun track; road course-style. I also enjoy the longer tracks. It gives us more time to think and make moves. And then the Black Hills Half-Mile, it is always a good track; very racey. I really enjoy coming to Sturgis and have gotten some solid results there [Black Hills Speedway] before, but I am striving to jump right to the top of the box come Tuesday.”
