PHOENIX (September 24, 2018) – Road racer JD Beach will once again return to his dirt track roots and race the final two rounds of American Flat Track aboard the Estenson Racing Yamaha MT-07.
The newly crowned MotoAmerica Supersport champ has scored two podiums in his last three AFT Twins races and was hoping to return for more once the 2018 road racing season was done and dusted and race the penultimate AFT round this Saturday, September 29, which is the Minnesota Mile and the following week’s season finale, the Meadowlands Mile, on October 6.
“I’m really looking forward to getting the chance to ride the Estenson Racing MT-07 for the last two races,” Beach said. “I’ve been wanting to race these last two rounds really bad. Luckily Tim [Estenson] was able to work with me since I made the decision Saturday night after my first [Supersport] race at Barber. He worked really hard to make sure everything got lined up. I’m really pumped about it.”
The Meadowlands Mile also marks the first time Beach has raced a Mile since 2013 and the road racer is eager to hit the fast tracks. “I’m beyond excited about getting back on a Mile,” he said. “The last time I raced a Mile was Springfield in 2013, so it’s been a long time. I’ve watched from the guardrail at Springfield quite a few Miles since then. I’ve been itching to get back on one, so I’m really glad that I’m getting this opportunity.”
Estenson is also excited to see Beach back in action in American Flat Track and was happy that he was able to provide the bikes that Beach needed to make it possible. “When I got the text from JD on Saturday inquiring about a ride for the final two rounds, I went to work to try and make this happen for him,” Estenson said. “I have a lot of respect for him. He’s an extremely talented rider, and I’m happy that I have some Yamahas for him to ride at Minnesota and the Meadowlands. I’m really looking forward to seeing him back out there, and I know the fans will be, too.”
