After a weekend off, Jake Johnson and Estenson Racing are keen to get back to AFT Twins racing at the third annual OKC Mile on Saturday, June 16, round eight of the 2018 American Flat Track season.
Johnson got his first taste of the Indian Motorcycle Scout FTR750 at the previous round in Lexington, Kentucky, and he looks forward to having another go on his new Estenson Racing steed. Pretty much the opposite of the slick, narrow groove of the Red Mile, Remington Park is a burly cushion track that lends itself to multiple lines and going wide open. Although not typically a cushion track rider, the two-time Grand National Champion looks forward to stretching the legs of his FTR in Oklahoma City in hopes of making a return to the podium.
Jake Johnson – AFT Twins #5:
“I’m not much of a cushion guy, but it will be nice to get off those little, skinny grooves. Oklahoma is a bit of a gnarly track. You can kind of ride anywhere and wide open; you don’t have to be as precise and careful [on that track], and are able to let it all hang out. I’m looking forward to that. We will have some room to work with and see what this thing can do.”
The OKC Mile is streamed live, Saturday, June 16, on FansChoice.TV starting with practice at 4:30 p.m. ET, followed by Opening Ceremonies at 7:00 p.m. ET, Heats at 7:15 p.m. ET and the Main Events at 9:50 p.m. ET. Catch the race on NBCSN, June 23 at 5:00 p.m. ET. For tickets and additional information about the event: http://www.americanflattrack.com/events.
